Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded was established in the year 1994. In its short span of 20 years university has established more than dozen schools on campus. University has its main campus located at Nanded and ‘Sub- Centres’ at Latur (with three schools and six academic programs) and Parbhani and a New Model Degree College at Hingoli (with five academic programs) as a conducted college. To spread the high education in the educationally backward district university, in tune with the education policy of University Grant Commission, New Delhi and well supported by State Government. This university has established University conducted college in Hingoli district during academic year 2011-12.

The New Model Degree College completed its ‘Eight Academic Years’ and now entering in its Ninth year (2019-20). The New Model Degree College has rare distinction to be the first in the Maharashtra to commence its academic programmes. The College has introduced ‘Job Oriented Courses’ at degree level with totally new pattern which is of I.I.T.’s and international Standard. The courses which are offered include B.A., B.Com., B.Sc. (Biotechnology), B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.B.A, & M.Com. & now university intends to start B.A. (Administration) from this academic year. All the innovative courses with modern curriculum right at degree level offer good opportunity to students to develop their hidden skills and develop their overall personality.

New Model Degree College will definitely be rated among the top educational institutes of Maharashtra. The university is making all efforts to develop close interface with different industries in order to make available ready to employ personnel with optimum communication skills. All the courses are tailor made for the market as well as for voluntary organizations. The graduates passing from this conducted college of the university will not only be able to get job but will also serve as job providers in Hingoli District. Hingoli District:

In the 1956, post independence when the state was reconstructed Marathwada was attached to Mumbai State and in 1960 Hingoli became part of the Maharashtra State as part or Parbhani district, Later on 1st May 1999 Hingoli district came into existence by division of Parbhani. Hingoli consists of five Talukas namely Hingoli, Basmath, Kalmanuri, Aundha Nagnath & Sengaon. Hingoli district is known for Aundha-Nanganath, which is one of the twelve Jyotrlingas which is one of the significant places of pilgrimage for Hindus in India. Mallinath Digambar Jain Temple, Tuljadevi Sansthan, Sant Namdev Sansthan are also located in Hingoli district.

About Library

The Library of the NMDC has 2622 books of different courses. The Library has enhanced its collection of books, periodicals and journals to satisfy need of different types of users.

Anti Ragging Regulation

Ragging is legally banned. It is punishable offence. In view of the increasing number of events of ragging, the University Grants Commission has passed the “UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, Ragging is any mis-conduct by” any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or including in rowdy or in disciplined activities by any student which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act which such student will not in any ordinary course do and which has the effect of casing or Generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student, with or without intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing of power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student”.

The Anti-Ragging Committee may, depending on the nature and gravity of the guilt established by the Anti-Ragging squad, award, to those found guilty, one or more of the following punishments namely:

Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.
Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process
Withholding results.
Debarring from representing the institutions in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival etc.,.
Suspension / expulsion from the hostel.
Cancellation of admission.
Rustication from the institution for period ranging from one to six semesters.
Expulsion from the institution and consequents debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period. Provided that where the persons committing or abetting the act of ragging are not identified the institution shall resort to collective punishment.

The students are advised to consult the Anti Ragging Committee in case of emergency.
